Private Functions

Set in the restored, historic New Zealand Railways Shipping Office. Relocated to its current lakefront Frankton Marina setting in 1936, the Boatshed Cafe & Bistro is the perfect place for your function.

The Boatshed Cafe & Bistro offers a stunning backdrop for any occasion with its spectacular location and views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range. The menu features locally sourced seasonal produce. We are fully licensed, offering local wines and beers.

The Boatshed is available for private hire including evening functions, weddings & product launches.

Below are some menu options we offer. We can tailor your function to your requirements. The Boatshed café and Bistro is fully licensed until 22:00.


Option 1:

20 to 50 Guests – all weather
This is a casual option for smaller groups such as private dinners and small weddings. It can also be tailored to be a formal dinner.
The guests will be greeted with a glass of bubbles.
This is a sharing style menu, also known as table buffet.
Select one option to start, two options as main, three sides and one dessert option:

Entrée
Seasonal antipasto platters with artisan bread & dips
Choice of 3 different canapés

Main
Crispy pork belly, spiced apple compote, caramelised onions
Lamb Tagine, labne
Grilled Marlborough salmon, tarragon & lemon buerre blanc

Minted new potatoes
Roast portobelllo mushrooms with soy

Assortment of cakes, slices, fresh fruit

Venue hire from $500* + gst

Option 2:

Limited to 50 seated guests – inside – bad weather
Limited to 100 seated guests – great weather Seating inside and outside – or Marquee (optional)
This option is a very relaxed option for bigger groups, such as conferences, product launches and bigger weddings.

The dishes are served buffet style where guests can choose any option and indulge in great flavours created by our outside Kiwi Braai. (Wood fire BBQ)

Venue hire $750* + gst – 51 or more

Option 3:

Cocktail function, suitable for approx 2 hours
Limited to 60 standing Guests – inside only – no seating
Limited to 150 standing guests – great weather or Marquee
This option is a very relaxed option for the big groups, such as conferences, product launches and pre or post- celebrations.

All food is canapé style and is served by wait staff.
